Sure, you’ve seen Rocky, Airport and Free Willy – but have you seen Rocky 4, The Concorde… Airport ‘79 or Free Willy: Escape From Pirates Cove? That’s right; we’d like to invite you over to celebrate the unsung heroes of cinema’s quadrilogies. For this Hallowe’en Fourth Friday, we thought we’d kick off with Joseph Sargaent’s 1987 classic, Jaws: The Revenge. Admission is free — feel free to bring snacks and beverages. We will start the movie at 7:30pm sharp so don’t be late. See you there!
Whitestone Gallery (80 Norfolk Street) is featuring the art of Larry Lawrence. Enjoy his whimsical take on our favourite barnyard buddies: chickens, sheep and cows. In addition to his paintings, there is art created by the other 13 members of the Artist Collective. Open 7-9.

Drawing on the proven techniques and professional know-how of recognized artists and educators, Art Innovators offers a Visual Arts curriculum that is multi-cultural, multimedia, age appropriate and never repeats. Our dynamic classes, workshops and camps are offered for ALL ages–young and old. Each of our fun and exciting programs meet or exceeds the National Standards for Arts Education. Bryan Rason is an incredible Canadian solo acoustic fingerstyle guitarist. Drawing influence from such talents as Tommy Emmanuel, Andy Mckee and Chet Atkins, Bryan takes solo acoustic guitar playing to a new level by bringing together multiple genres and styles to create a truly unique and fascinating listening experience for all music fans.
Bryan is currently recording two new albums, one of which will include many of his most popular covers coupled with newly penned original tunes. This album entitled “GENRES” was released June 2013. In response to fan demands, he second scheduled album will be Christmas themed and due for release November 2013.
Vocamus Press is hosting a program of performances by slam poets, and an informal panel on the current state of publishing, “The Future of Publishing”.

Drop-in Yoga Class
@ Living Yoga and Health (105 Wyndham Street North)
Students of all levels are welcome to join in this drop-in class on the fourth Friday of the month from 5:30-6:30 pm. Focus is on breathing and moving with awareness through specific warm-ups to open the body in preparation for the yoga poses being taught. Benefits of poses and modifications for different abilities will be offered.
This class reflects the yoga teaching on self-less service, and is often referred to as Karma Yoga. Teachers give freely of their time, and all funds raised through the “pay-what-you-can” donations ($5-$10 recommended) are given to support charitable needs within our community. Taught by various teachers.

Johnny and Harri will do an intimate stripped down version of their show featuring material spanning four decades. Backed up by Mike Young on bass and Rob Greenway (AKA Brilliant Fish) on percussion. $10 at the door.

We are offering free craft sessions held by Patti Wheeler whimsical wire artist. Participants will be making wire art book marks, bubble wands, earrings, and Christmas ornaments.
