The Paper Road
@ Market Square: Macdonald Stewart Art Centre in partnership with the City of Guelph will be doing a project called The Paper Road whereby we will paper Carden Street from Wilson to Wyndham Streets.
The street will be entirely covered in yellow paper from 7pm – 9pm and the community will be invited to contribute to the road by adding drawings, photographs, etc. Images from this event will be shared with our sister cities Treviso, Loria, and Castelfranco Veneto in Italy. Following The Paper Road, there will be a screening of The Wizard of Oz in Market Square.

Guelph Arts Council and City of Guelph are looking for knitting and crochet enthusiasts to help cover St. George Square! Yarn Bombing will take place on September 28-29th as part of the national celebration of Culture Days.
Join our Fourth Fridays prep team as we knit and crochet the materials needed to cover the square. Knitting instructors, yarn and needles are supplied!

Face Painting
@ Market Square: Award winning artist Tania Crook of Makin’ Faces Face Painting/Infinite Body Arts will be painting faces by donation or pay-what-you-think-it’s worth! During the day- until 3pm
7-10pm: Paint Yourself Silly workshop. Grab a brush, sponge, glitter & lots of paint & paint yourself or a friend. We use special user friendly face paint. Good fun. 🙂

Michael Skiperis is a Guelph based artist whose life has been split between Toronto and Guelph for the past year. His new show “One Thing for Another“ reflects an individual in transit; anything from found pennies, to personal snapshots taken along the way were used to create these new works.
Michael’s work will be on display at Whitestone Gallery from July 28, 2012 from 7-10 pm.

Wyndham Art Supplies and the Guelph School of Art will be hosting a collaborative painting event from 6pm-9pm. We will have a couple of very large canvases out front of the store with paints, mediums and brushes available for anyone who wants to come by and add their artistic flair to the paintings. Just bring your creativity and we’ll supply the rest. The store will be open until 9pm.
