Art Crawl Fourth Friday's Guelph@ 10 Carden: Come by 10 Carden between 7-10pm for the Victory Art Crawl! This volunteer led project was organized by a group of parents at Victory Public School. The idea blossomed into a full blown community art project that marries creativity, collaboration and social change. Located in Guelph’s Exhibition Park, Victory Public is a dual track school for children in Jr Kindergarten to Grade 6. Instructors from the Guelph School of Art were instrumental in developing age appropriate art classes for all 340 students, and for 2 weeks in April, the Victory gymnasium was transformed into an art studio where children learned about the masters and then set off to interpret their own creation. It was a fantastic (and super messy) experience!

If you would like to purchase a piece of art, please let the volunteer at 10 Carden know, and they will help you through the process. All pieces are for sale on a ‘pay what you can’ basis. All the funds collected will go to 3 charities: Action Read, The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington and Lakeside Hope House. You can take your purchased piece of art home with you!

Seeking local talent for Friday Noon Hour Concerts!

January 14th, 2013 (Guelph, ON) – Downtown Guelph is seeking submissions from musicians and entertainers interested in performing for our 2013 Noon Hour Concert Series, staged every Friday from June 7th to September 13th in St George’s Square.  We welcome interest from groups and individuals from all genres of music, and are aiming for talent that is marketable to the global audience present during the noon hour.  Additional musicians will be sought this season for Fourth Fridays, a burgeoning Downtown Guelph event which embraces creativity, community and performance on the fourth Friday of each month.

This is an excellent opportunity to participate in highly regarded local events.  Friday Noon Hour Concerts are a long- standing tradition of the Downtown Guelph Business Association (DGBA) whose intent is to enliven and pay tribute to our downtown community by showcasing local and regional talent.  Artists are chosen by committee and are paid for their performances.  Instruments, all sound and technical equipment are the responsibility of the artists.  Power and shelter are supplied by the organizer.  Each concert is a rain or shine event.

To apply, please submit a demo CD or EPK, or a link to your web page, PLUS a one-sheet biography by March 1st, 2013 to:
