Ben Turcotte is giving a free performance at the Civic Museum from 5 to 9 pm on July 24th as part of the Civic Museum’s Fourth Friday series.

From Ben’s bio:
Ben Turcotte is a 19-year-old independent singer/songwriter from Port Elgin. He has been playing music for many years. He is proficient on guitar, piano, drums, and saxophone. He was one of the 2010 Summerfolk Youth Discoveries winners. Since then, he has played many gigs and opened up for such acts as Madison Violet. He won the Barrie Folk youth songwriting competition in November of 2012. He wrote, recorded, and produced his first complete album in June of 2013. He played at Summerfolk again in August of 2013. He was selected to be a part of the youth program at the OCFF concert in October of 2013. There, he was awarded the Taylor Mitchell bursary. Now, in 2015 he released “Ben, It’s Me” as a part of his experimentation with new-age folk.
